About
Huston Park
The first project of the LPRF was to develop a new park with athletic fields, especially soccer.
The land was initially donated by the Harry Huston Family to LMH Foundation in 2007, and transferred
to the City of Logansport to serve as a match to the Land & Water Conservation Fund. Funds were
awarded by IDNR in two, $200,000 grants to develop the park.
Also awarded was a grant of $560,000 from the McTaggart Charitable Trust
Drs. Connie Owens and Jeffrey Penman donated their former offices at the corner of Smith and Dividend
to serve as a community center for the Logansport Parks & Recreation Department.
This building now serves as the parks office, and is called the Penman Service Center
In addition, financial gifts were given from Mike Anderson Auto Group, the J. Hart Family, the Tom
Morris Family, Logansport Savings Bank, the David Workman Family, and the Pat & Judy McNarney
Family.
Security Federal Savings Bank also established a maintenance trust fund for Huston Park.
The park was ultimately known as Huston Park, named for the Harry Huston Family by his sons, Howard,
Sam, Tom, and Mike.

The dedication of Huston Park took place on
September 7, 2014.
